Hometown: I was born in San Diego, but have lived in Wichita most of my life.
First job: I was a pizza delivery driver for a small Wichita restaurant called Pepperoni Express.
What I am most proud of: My children.
Why I chose internal medicine: I like the ability to have interactions with people and get to know them over time. I liked internal medicine during residency and working with adult patients.
Hobbies and interests: Running, golf, scuba diving, snorkeling and my kids' activities.
Still on my bucket list: I want to travel to Australia and Europe—Italy and Paris.
Volunteer activities: I volunteer at a free medical clinic one Sunday per month.
Not too many people know: I have completed six full marathons. I was the first female finisher from Kansas when I ran the New York Marathon.
Best piece of advice for patients: Exercise and take your medicine that is prescribed.
