- Fellow, American Academy of Dermatology
- Member, Association of Military Dermatologists
Hometown: Paola, Kansas.
First job: Flipping burgers at Dairy Queen for a "training wage" of $2.80/hour. I did get free ice cream, though.
Why I chose this specialty: Dermatology is the best of all worlds in medicine—wonderful patient interactions, a wide range of procedures and lots of effective medicines and treatments available to improve the quality of life for patients.
Hobbies and interests: Hiking, history, sports (especially Jayhawk basketball and Kansas City Chiefs football) and cooking.
I just can't resist: A good nature documentary ...even if I've already seen it three times.
Best piece of advice for patients: Everything in moderation except tanning beds—stay out of those completely!
Website I would suggest patients refer to: American Academy of Dermatology has great educational material for the public to learn about skin care, skin cancer and other skin diseases and treatments.
