Hometown: Brockton, Massachusetts (home of Rocky Marciano, the famous boxer!)
Pets: Two golden retrievers, Athena and Max.
Hobbies and interests: Camping, scrapbooking, hiking, walking my dogs, doing things with my son (scouts, camping, movies, etc.).
Vacation spot: Backpacking in the Swiss Alps, specifically near Zermatt and the Matterhorn.
Volunteer activities: Girl and Boy Scouts, church committees and activities, teaching community FA/CPR, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, Meals on Wheels, and my son's school/fraternity.
Why I chose pediatrics: I was teaching special education at the Institute of Logopedics (now Heartspring) and was interested in the medical aspects of what makes these kids "tick." I enjoy kids and Dr. Mark Springer (my senior resident) encouraged me to pursue pediatrics when I was a medical student.
Why I chose Via Christi Clinic: I liked the idea of working as a team with the patient as the focus.
