Proud father of four children, Landon, Colin, Whitney, and Haley. Originally from Belle Plaine, KS. Dr. Green was recipient of the 2012 Health Care Hero Award from the Wichita Business Journal and a 2008 recipient of the Business Journal's Forty Under Forty Achievement Award.
Hometown: Belle Plaine, Kansas.
First job: I started a family lawn mowing business with my older brother and younger sister when I was 11. We called ourselves the "Green Tree-O," and we spent more time fighting than mowing. I think that's how we got so much business—people found our mowing very entertaining!
Why I chose family medicine: I love the diversity of diagnoses that I get to see/treat. I also love taking care of entire families. Finally, I enjoy a family physician's role in the medical community—the interaction with my peers and other specialists is a great aspect of my job.
Hobbies and interests: Playing golf and basketball, watching KU basketball and traveling with my family.
Volunteer activities: My wife and I are very involved in Young Life, a Christian organization in town that tries to reach high school students with the Gospel. I have served as a camp doctor for Young Life in Colorado for three summers.
Latest accomplishment: I was nominated as a candidate for the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians Family Physician of the Year award.
