Open house, blessing planned for newly renovated Ascension Via Christi Rehabilitation Hospital
The $8.8 million renovation of Ascension Via Christi Rehabilitation Hospital is now complete – featuring 30 private rooms, a modern décor and state-of-the-art gait and balance system designed to improve patient outcomes and safety.
An open house of the newly renovated rehabilitation hospital at 1151 N. Rock Road will be held from 3 – 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16. A blessing of the facility and those who give and receive care at the hospital will take place at 4:30 p.m.
“Our goal is to help patients regain functional independence following a major illness, trauma or surgery,” says Cindy Hagerty, chief nursing officer for the Rehabilitation Hospital, which offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient therapy for children and adults. The rehabilitative care team treats a variety of diagnoses, including stroke, amputation, burns, Parkinson’s disease, neurological/muscular and balance disorders, major trauma, and orthopedic, spinal cord and brain injuries.
The hospital's interdisciplinary team draws on a long tradition of rehabilitation expertise to maximize patients’ ability to function at home and in the community. Each patient receives at least three hours of individualized therapy per day. A comprehensive range of medical services also are provided, including full-time physician supervision.
