Labarca, Chadwick assume new leadership roles at Ascension Via Christi
Effective Monday, July 13, two Ascension Via Christi executives will assume new roles, a move designed to better align facility and service line leadership responsibilities, as well as leverage the talents, experience and skills of the organization's internal talent.
Laurie Labarca, who has been called upon to serve in a number of executive leadership roles during her 35 years of service to Ascension Via Christi, is now president of Ascension Via Christi St. Teresa and Ascension Via Christi Rehabilitation Hospital. Labarca, who began her healthcare career at Ascension Via Christi as an occupational therapist, at one time served as the rehabilitation hospital and service line's executive leader.
"Laurie's strong hospital operational and leadership skills will serve her well in this combined role," said Kevin Strecker, Ascension Via Christi's chief operating officer, in announcing the re-alignment.
Robyn Chadwick, who for the past two years has served as vice president of St. Teresa and executive leader for our Behavioral Health service line, is now president of Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph, a role previously held by Labarca. Chadwick, who began her healthcare career as a medical social worker, joined Ascension Via Christi in early 2013.
"Robyn worked closely with Laurie in leading the consolidation of Behavioral Health services at St. Joseph as part of a more than $60 million renovation, making her well positioned to lead the hospital going forward," Strecker said.
