Childbirth, new parent education classes go virtual at Ascension Via Christi

Ascension Via Christi's childbirth and new parent education classes, temporarily suspended because of the COVID-19 outbreak, are now being offered virtually.

"Same great classes with a live instructor providing a wealth of valuable information, we'll just be meeting via Google Hangouts rather than face to face," says Toni Howard, who leads childbirth education at Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph's NewLife Center.

Classes are still available at no cost, thanks to a grant from Children's Miracle Network Hospitals at Ascension Via Christi. Simply go to Ascension Via Christi’s classes and events page to register; all it takes to participate is a smart phone or computer.

"All classes will be offered virtually until the risk for COVID-19 infection has subsided," says Howard, adding that she and the other educators are thankful for the technology that is allowing the classes to go forward. "We're still delivering babies, so it's important that soon-to-be or new moms and dads have all the tools they need to get off to a good start."

Virtual and photo tours also will be available via Google Hangouts. For more information, contact Toni Howard at 316-689-5485.
