Ascension Via Christi CEO Don King moved to Kansas in April – a move that brought the Kansas City area native and his wife, Wendy, back to their roots.
Recently, the Via Christi Foundation hosted a meet-and-greet with Don King, who continues to share his organizational vision for the future with physicians, staff and civic leaders and learn more about their needs and concerns.
Being part of a larger health system allows Ascension Via Christi to drive costs down, share best practices and access capital, King told the group of community, business and governmental leaders. That’s important as healthcare costs now represent 18-20% of the nation’s gross domestic product.
“We must deliver care differently,” King told the group — and work is under way to do just that as how and where that care is delivered continues to evolve, driven by consumer demand and supported by newly emerging technology.
One thing that hasn't changed, he says: Ascension Via Christi’s unwavering commitment to quality patient care for all.
