Next week, Ascension Medical Group Via Christi will open its new concierge primary care clinic on Spirit AeroSystems' Wichita, Kansas, campus.
The clinic, located north of the Spirit's HR Service Center, will replace the temporary concierge clinic that opened in July 2019 at 990 George Washington Boulevard. That facility will close on Friday and the new location will begin caring for Spirit employees, retirees and their dependent family members on Monday, Dec. 7.
The 9,500-square foot facility includes family medicine, lab, X-ray, medication dispensing and health education services and is staffed by family medicine providers Sheryl Beard, MD, Charles Green, MD, Douglas Lewis, MD, and Sarah Purdy, DO.
"Our patients have loved the unrushed attention that they receive during their visits, and we love having the time to spend with them," said Sheryl Beard, MD, who is one of the clinic's four concierge primary care physicians. "This is yet another exciting step in our journey to achieve better patient outcomes and patient experience at a lower overall cost."
The idea for the concierge model of care grew out of Ascension Via Christi's relationship with Spirit through its Healthier You accountable care organization.
It is expected to experience further growth as Ascension Via Christi continues to work with Spirit and other employers to achieve better patient outcomes and experience at a lower overall cost.
"For example, we are working to develop additional 'spoke' locations for Spirit and other employers, which would allow us to offer the same level of care closer to home as well as at the worksite," said Philip Newlin MD, chief medical officer at Ascension Medical Group Via Christi.
Spirit's spoke clinic at Ascension Via Christi St. Teresa is scheduled to open in Spring 2021.
