Cancer Services and Outreach
When you or someone you love has cancer, it creates an endless number of emotions and questions. At Mercy Regional, our goal is to provide tools that allow you to cope with these new feelings — from information, to someone to talk to, to explanations about things your oncologist has said. Please remember: You don't have to go far to get the support you need.
Provided through the American Cancer Society and Mercy Regional, our free resources include:
- Wigs and head coverings
- Educational books for loan
- Individual counseling
- Printed resources
- I Can Cope, a program for adults facing cancer--either personally, or as a friend or family caregiver. I Can Cope classes can help dispel cancer myths by presenting straightforward information and answers to your cancer-related questions.
- Palliative Care options
"I read somewhere that you can't change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails. It reminds me that we have the power to chart the course of our own lives regardless of the circumstances that we are dealt."
— Velma Wagner, Cancer Survivor
